Cleaning The Undercarraige and Engine Bay

What would you recommend for cleaning the undercarraige and engine bay that will not dull and harm aluminum parts and paint?

I was told using any kind of higher pressure water in the engine bay can cause damage, so that's not true?

as long as you cover important items, like the air filter, you should be fine.

honestly I used some purple power, and a pressure washer, and some scrubing.. The degreaser eats half that crap away, and the pressure washer gives it a nice finish. My engine bay looked brand new!

I found some of that Purple Power that you suggested at the dollar store. That stuff is like magic. It cut through the grime build-up like a knife thru butter and it was cheap to boot. Thanks!

I think if you're going to use a pressure washer, make sure you have the car running at the time. You'll know in a hurry if you get water where it is not supposed to be.

Any autoparts store should have plenty of engine cleaners for you to try. Make sure you watch your paint on the fenders and what not.

In some places, nothing makes up for a good toothbrush and smaller hand brushes to get some of that ground in grease and dirt out.

Yeah, those small brushes come in handy. The paint on my engine bay looks better than the paint on the outside of the car LOL!
