how much can you make parting out...
An 89 hatch with a ka24e? I wrecked it in the winter when my brakes failed on slick roads, hit a grand cherokee and destroyed the front. The master cylinder was leaking badly, and i did not catch the problem in time.
The engine is ok, and has a new alternator, 5k miles on rebuilt injectors, had 5k on all 4 brakes ( one new caliper)and rotors, new stock exhaust (i was really sick...my wife let some place put it on for $400, i was pissed), the hatch is screwed but the rear window itself is fine, all doors and fenders are dinged up, drivers seat is a bit worn, has an authentic jdm 180sx/silvia stereo that can only get half of our US stations.
I was planning on doing the body work myself...had it all planned out to replace the radiator support and almost bought all the tools to do so when i discovered some cancerous rust. It had been a Georgia car with little rust (just under the foam spoiler).
But the previous owner had a ding in the rear fixed by some hacks. They left a section of the wheel well open, this opening allowed road salt mixed with water to fill the sheet metal under the passenger side of the unibody. It is literally packed with salt, and is rusting it from the inside out. So it is no longer worth the effort.
I just want to make a little money to invest it into another 240 with a rust free frame. Almost nonexistent in my area.
