i just bought a 92' 240sx in which the cylinder head needed to be surfaced because coolant was leaking into the engine. well i got it surfaced and they had to take off 10 thousandths of an inch. anyways, it started up fine before i took it apart, but now that its back together it wont start. when i first cranked it over after the work, it started right up, but it started to run rough so i cut it off. i tried to start it back up right after and it wouldnt start. i cleaned off the spark plugs and let the engine sit for a couple days, but it still wont start (it turns over though). i checked all the connections and i made sure the timing was all lined up before putting it back together. i'm still somewhat of a novice with major engine work. i can't figure out whats wrong with it, can someone give any advise please?

The cam or ignition timing is probably incorrect. How did you perform the timing procedures for the cams and ignition; did you use a FSM?

sounds like a timimg issue....however stranger things have happened...also look into fuel problems

hey thanks for the help guys. I'm not sure what it was, but i replaced the relay switch and banged on the fuel pump and also drained the fuel lines of air and she started right up... not sure what exactly it was because i did a few other things also. now it doesnt accelerate right when you punch it in 1st, i think i got a vacuum hose leaking. anyway, thats not a big deal, because i'm probably going to do an engine swap anyway. thanks again for the advise.
P.S. anybody had any problems with the brakes locking up in th rear wheels?
