A/F install questions

I was wondering what wire you tapped in for the a/f gauge. This is on a sr20 with a three wire sensor. Tried tapping into all of them. Got no results. I think the center wire is the one but not sure. It is getting power to one wire but I assume that it's the heater wire.

Thanks, D.Folsom

well if your not using a wideband sensor then its not worth your time to hook up an a/f gauge. I'm asuming your not because you said your sensor only has 3 wires. Most widebands have 5. If your really curious about your a/f ratio I suggest getting an Innovate LM1 or LC1

wow thanks for your really helpful and educational post I think I'll go right out and spend five hundred dollars on something I'm only planning to run under 15psi in. you must really know alot about tunning but next time maybe post something helpful to my situation or don't post at all, I know that the blinkie light A/F gauge wont really tell me much but when your full throttle it will give you a close enough reading. plus I hear it hypnotizes girls to take off their shirts!
any way this actually for a friends car not mine I don't even own a 240
maybe someone could redirect me to a forum with more idiots with blinkie lights?

you... what... omg

You have no clue about tuning, and are a total noob..

anything OTHER than a real wideband is total dog-shit. IT will never work for tuning, ever..

read, research, and pay attn to what people tell you..

If you really want to know, Look at the 02 sensor wiring harness, There is 1 wire that will have an extra layer of head shrinking on it, "It looks thicker than the others"... tap into that for your "awesome tuning instrument"

Don't come on this forum and talk crap to us. We're just trying to help you not look like a total jackass and go to your nearest advanced, or autozone store and waste your money. I'm sure Opium knows more about tuning than you do.

thank you for that tidbit of info. about tapping into the bigger wire than the others. and I apologize about the belligerent post. Rereading my original post I would think the same thing, but posting something like that is useless for anything other than a bump. I just wanted some quick help with installing this stupid gauge in my friends car, which he had done absolutely no research on. I originally told him to buy an EGT gauge but he couldn't afford that or whatever.

we tried tapping into all of the wires individually and didn't get a useable signal from any of them including the bigger of the three. I don't know what this means whether the O2 sensor is faulty or something else is the problem. any help offered is greatly appreciated. I'm going to crawl back to the hachiroku forums now.......................
