Utah Region SCCA

Anyone intrested in autocrossing who has not been out before, I am one of two new driver coordinators for this season. Post here or send me an e-mail if you have any questions. It would be good to see more of you out this year. My e-mail is turningleaftreecare@netzero.net.

Big D, if you go to scca.com and look under autocross or solo II there is a lot of info on there site. Locally we race two to three times a month. Last year most of our events were held at the E center and Salt Lake Community College. We also host a ProSolo each year in Wendover. The Wendover races are held on the runway of the old airport. Our season starts in the end of March, and runs through the end of October. Let me know if there is some more info I can give you. Thanks

Come on out!! There should be a few 240's out from time to time.Matt is in the process of an engine swap as we speak. He is a very good driver and would be someone to take a ride with for sure. He ran a four door integra the last couple seasons and bought a 91 240 last year. Sorry for all the info but I was'nt sure who you were from your user name. Thanks for the intrest.

Currently there are no dates set for next season. There sould be a preseason meeting coming up soon. I will post the date and time when I find out. The season should be starting in March.

Thumbs up SCCA Solo2

I hope everyone come out for AutoXing this year. I suck driving big time, but I still have a lot of fun racing. I have met lots of cool people from AutoXing and they have helped me teaching how to drive, etc. Popeye was one of the guy who taught me driving. Don't be scared and just come to event and see what's up.
I've been taking into a few people to come out for next season. I'll try to brain wash as much people as I can. I'd rather race with more cars like mine this season

I just raced SCCA three weeks ago in Hawaii. I drove an S14 (240SX) and i had a lot of fun in that car. Sad thing is I drove that 240SX so much better than my own car. After that race, I am in love with 240's. I can't wait to see Matt's car with swap. I bet his car will haul ass.

I'm looking at a 86 300ZX Turbo. So I plan to start getting up early so I can make it out to SCCA.

Popeye,

I have never done it before and I would like to try it out. Maybe I can make it out to event and hook up with some of the Utah Nissan guys since I cannot seem to find anyone up here in Idaho.

Thumbs up

Come on down! We also count a few of the Idaho events into our points events for the year. In the past they have been at the airport in Pocatello. They are always very fast courses and a lot of fun. The Idaho boys are very cool. There are many of them who come down to our events. You should look up there website and get on there mailing list. They hold a lot of events in southern Idaho. The only Nissan guy that I have met up there, runs around in a cherry red 510 with plates that say Gumball on them. Very nice car. You are more than welcome any
time and there are lots of poeple who are willing to help out new drivers.
See you at the event.

Talking First race

First race of the season will be held on the 23rd of Feb at the Utah Fair Park. The region is trying to get people to preregister on line, so if you go to the utah site you will find the form there. This will speed things along in the morning and give us more time for more runs. The first meeting will be on the 28th at Taylorsville High @ 7pm. It is well worth going. Thanks and see you at the races!!

Post sweet

It's the early start this year! Well, since it's not snowing like every year, i guess there is no reason not to AutoX
My car won't have the SR20 for the first race, but I guess I am driving with my POS 1.6L again. Yeah Popeye, I'll probably need your help when I do the " D E " swap, thanks for your offer.

I have the black 90 240. i think you might have come drifting with some of use (dan, and some others cant remeber there names though) last year (but i might be thinking of someone else). Anyway thats cool matt got the swap done, i just rebuilt my KA24e, so it should be a little funer to drive, but i am going to be put into a much harder class now. Still need to get all my suspention stuff done. so the frist meet is on the 23rd hum hope i have my engine broken in by then, or i might just have to watch. Well should be great this year anyway. Later all

Joe

Joe, yeah that was me. Hope to see you out on the 23rd, don't forget to register on line, or you can't race.
Later,
Calvin
