Hello again everyone! ^_^ I just bought a brand spanking new 2005 Nissan Sentra SE-R!!!! Its only got 34 miles on it and I freaking love it. I already have rims ready for it and have been drooling over the whole Nismo parts catalog. Im definitley getting all the Nismo suspension parts they offer as well as engine parts such as the Nismo cold air intake, Nismo header, Nismo catback exhaust, and the Unorthodox underdrive crank pulley. My question is this- I really am thinking about getting the Nismo camshafts for my car but was interested in finding out opinions or experiences from other members. Are they safe to work with our valvetrains? Since they are a R-tune component I know that Nissan does not offer a warranty, but is anything covered at all? Since my car is new should I get them now or wait until I break her in? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I already have a 1994 B13 1.6 Liter and Im very familiar with the GA16DE motor and SR20DE motor but trying to learn more and more about the 2.5 QR motor. Thanks again!!!^_^
This is for Altim8GA, Sentra GTR-1 and anyone else. Yes and no First I would check with your dealer. My dealer told me that the R tuned part do not maintain a warranty but they won't void the warranty on my car. Every dealership is different check with them before buying the parts

the simple fact is, if there was a problem, and you have cams, a dealer is going to be a bit less likely to cover anything, and definitely will not cover anything if problems are caused by the cams.
heh, i was about to post youll find out soon as my 3 year warranty expires this year...but it was brought to my attention that it is aparently longer than a 3 year warranty. lol
For only about 8whp that the cams give you...I'd wait until you got your other basic mods first. I have heard nothing but wonderful things about the Nismo header and exhaust though. Also, I have the Nismo suspension on my spec and I love it... congrats on the car.
Yeah, I hate to tell you that. If you do get the cams then make sure to upgrade your spring, valves, etc... that way whenever JWT breaks the code to the ecu then you will be able to see tremendous gains. For now though your best bang for the buck will be a header or nitrous. I am waiting on the new DC header to get to my house and I will install it and let ya know how it is. I am also going to the dyno next sat so I will be able to let everyone know of the extra whp it produces.
BTW: I have an 04 spec v so dont let my SN fool you.
