custom exhaust vs aftermarket exhaust

if anyone has any reply on this tread knock
your self out and tell me why go with after
market when you can go to your local muffler
shop and get a nice deluxe exhaust done for the
same amount of money you would pay for
the cheapest exhaust that been magnaflow for $381.000 shiped/
i got a custom exhaust for $350.00 hi flow cat-back and a
flowmaster muffler all with 2.25inch mandrel piping.

ps.the piping starts where the header ends.

Good deal... Finding a local place that can do mandrel bends is tough in most cities. The magnaflow is a great deal considering its stainless steel too.

^the reason goin to your local shop is cheaper is that they dont use as a high quality stainless steel as most aftermarket places like stromung. The reason an aftermarket exhaust will cost so much is that they use a high quality stainless steel mandrel bent system. also the better the quality tubing it flows slightly better and it helps reduce heat... its not goin to be that much of a difference until you get more mods

maybe its because exhaust companies spend countless man hours researching and develop bends and specifications that are most effective and appropriate for the application....but non the less, you did a pretty good deal, but i'm a bit more paranoid than you for my car, only the best parts will do.

^it really depends what you are looking for, it you want the max power out of your exhaust, i doubt you local shop uses as much as a high quality stainless steel as lets say stromung and greddy... plus, the material like i said before that stromung is prolly more heat resistant towards yoru exhaust gas making it run a bit cooler on the way out for better flow and one of the best things bout stromung, they are known to make their exhaust almost sounds stock..

very true fact indeed my fellow onliners.
a stainless steel cat-back will flow a bit
better.but i believe as long as there is enough
flow on the mandrel bending its ok and it will
flow just as well as any cat-back. but at bit
less flow compared to a stainless steel.but not
by much. the bending exhaust by chapos did
for me is so dam straight that only has one curve
and its a small curve and the end of the exhaust.
they did not follow the same path as the stock exhaust
looks so dam straight. as compared to
some i seen online that got a nasty curve at the end.
and the part that you guys said that less heat on stainless steel.my custom
exhaust is cover by heat shields from the header to the catalytic conveter.
which helps me out on the heat side.something is better than nothing.

ps.
for some reason my exhaust gets
quieter as it hits higher rpms and
its louder at lower rpms kindo nitto.hehe
