sr20de crank swap

ove read in some places that you can drop the crank from the sr20 right in to the qr25. has anyone tried this i would like too know what they thought of it. i still not to sure what this motor can offer in different situations.

I have never heard that, I would be suprised if it is true. Also you would not gain anything by changing the crank alone.

Yea, I wonder why anyone would want to swap over just the SR crank. I don't think the QR shares anything with the SR motor.

no, it doesn't directly swap over without a bit of other work.

well it would require a lot more than just the crank. To take advantage of all that work you'd have to use a standalone ecu. Might as well buy an SR20 if you're gonna go to all that trouble with the qr.

yeah i know man
unfortunately these cars aren't hondas, the parts aren't so easily interchangeable, and the mods are so expensive.

theroretically, if you had a QR25 with a SR20 bottom end, you'd be able to boost it alot with power gains going way past what a SR20 can do, due to the displacement and the light parts inside the QR, also due to the better breathing head. this is really untested and rests as a theory for now. you'd have to go from bottom to top, and make sure every thing was perfect and custom done. technically, its possible (anything is) but you'd be doing it just to support the QR, and it wouldnt be economical at all. i'd just swap in a SR20DET if you want an easy 300hp
