Idle learning & Idle air volume learning

I have an 04 SER. 3k Mi. Hot shot header and CAI. I have idle problems 2 days after install of CAI. On QR25DE.Net they talk about idle problems after disconnecting the battery. They say that you may need to preform the Idle & Idle Air Volume Learning. Does anyone know this procedure? Help!

the ECU learns by itself.

go back and check all the fittings, all the connections, etc.

unplug the negative terminal of the battery for 10 mins, (reset the ECU) and see how it runs.

only real motored toys left:

I know there's a TSB report out about idle. Check this sight out and see if this sounds like your problem

ok...i have recently bought NISMO CAI GEN II and i did install it myself...but now it idles funny...it would idle normal then all of a sudden it would drop idle and the whole engine would vibrate like it was gonna turn off...and it waould idle normal again...i would keep doing that...what do you think it could be?

oh when i put my CAi i was rippin out the stock intake like a mad man...and when i was puttin the NISMO CAI i noticed a lil hose that came from transmission or something around there...i dunno if it connected to the stock intake or if it was mounted somewhere...but i looked at the stock intake and there was no place for the lil hose and the hose look like it wasnt connected...can someone share some info of what that was?

That sounds like the problem. I have the procedure from QR25DE.net web site but its worded werd on 4 & 5 of the steps and I can't get to work. The name of the forum is Idle Learning. Does anyone know this?

do not worry about that, just zip-tie it to something in the engine bay. (tranny breather line or something)

Mike is correct, the ECU is self learning. Figure it will take about 2 weeks to fully adjust. Even with stock intake the car is sometimes choppy at idle when you first stop.

Funny enough, I was going to post a thread about this problem about 3 weeks ago after I got my NISMO CAI!! My car kept doing the same thing.....at idle it would drop the RPM's so low as to almost kill it!! After tightening up my connectors and resetting my ECU (which I forgot to do in the first place) it didn't do it as bad!!

Now, three weeks later it is virtually gone!! Idle still drops a little but not much at all to where you feel it!!
