Thumbs up Dyno test SS Autochrome header +about 12hp!

Just got back from the dyno' from 138.9hp to 150.4 hp, Great gains. My baseline #'s are low, but I dyno'd before and after and the gains are there, I was surprised to see almost 12hp gain. From 3800 Rpms the gains started, Torque wasn't quite so much, but a gain and stayed flat across Rpms the whole way about 5tq gain. I will try to attatch dyno. Header fit perfect, I just added an 02 sim. for no check engine light.

Should get me into the 14's now !!

Thanks!

Those numbers are quite low. If you have allready gone 15.0 I would say that dyno is off. 150whp wont get you in the 14's.

info.

My 1st time to dyno I have cheap ebay CAI' piping narrows to fit through hole, (little restriction) and from factory resonator back 2.25" exhaust to universal muffler.

I did have pre-cat flash'

My #'s are low compared to many others, but an increase is an increase !! Does elevation matter? Also I did hear some Dyno's show more and others show less..reguardless it is a tool to use..

1st time dyno 138hp - 140hp 151tq -152 tq
CAI/Exhaust

2nd dyno 150hp -154 tq was the best 3rd gear pull
CAI/Exhaust/ES Front insert/SS Autochrome header

It is odd I agree compared to Hotshot dyno that the tq didn't jump way up' just kinda gained and stayed at increase level across the R's to redline.

Like I said for a header under $200 shipped and 2 02's, great fit, I don't think I went wrong. If I had the money I would go Hotshot' but w/ a home , car payments, I am budgeted.

Thanks!

Those numbers..pre header look extremly low.

Most 02-03 Spec V's produce 140-145 whp in stock form.

With CAI and exhaust you are saying you only made 138?

I think that dyno was off. It looked to me about 10whp too low before and after the header. I think hes probably more like 148whp before and 158whp after header. Especially being that he went 15.0 at almost 92mph w/out the header. I think the dyno was the problem. Not his car. But as he said the header made 12whp more one way or the other. I think the negligable difference in torque is due to the 4-1 design of the header. I guess AEBS has been dethroned as the king of headers with no torque

I am almost certain that SS Autochrome ripped off Hotshots design yet again. They are a shady company that seals others designs then trys to put the original company out of business by flooding the market with cheap copies.

I am trying to get people to boycot this company. They have ripped off JBA, DC and Hotshot.

Mike

The SSautochrome header looks nothing like a HS. The OBX is an exact copy of Hotshot. I will boycott them as soon as you can put out a quality header that makes good power for $150.

who is the you.. that you are refering to? He doesn't work for Hotshot. SS Autochrome is ripping off several companies original designs now.. having it produced in Korea out of less quality materials, then trying to flood the market here in the US with ebay as the primary way of selling it..

I'm pretty sure OBX and SS Autochrome is the same thing.. I could be wrong, but pretty sure.

yeah.. ill vouche for that... i sent them an email asking them if they can make a turbo manifold for the GA16de.. in equal length.. and they said if i send them detailed AutoCAD designed blueprints, they would make it, and give me one for "10% off our invoice price"...

pfft... if i give any blueprints, or anything to any company, i want to be given full gratitute.. like.. my name carved in each manifold, and then i get a small % of money per manifoild sold..
