well, if you don't have it wideband tuned, don't expect any
spend the time for wideband dyno tuning and you could see a max of 8whp with a good solid 4-7whp throughout the powerband.
You seem like you really know your stuff, now let me pick your brain. What do you mean by wideband tuning? What mods would you recommend after the basic I/H/E, and last (but not least) how do I mod my ride to beat my friend's srt4?
wideband as in wideband O2 sensor... it is basically a more accurate sensor that can give readings of the air fuel mixture, without it your just estimating at best.
beat your friend's SRT4? full engine build + turbo, or just buy an SRT4 and mod more than his
get Nismo cams. Wideband tuning is done on a dynamometer which allows safe monitoring of the air/fuel ratio....the tool they use costs well over $500 normally. They shouldn't charge more than 100 for an hour, and you'll know how much power your car puts down when you're done

I'll never buy a dodge--even if he kicks my a$$ in the straightaways. I like reliability more than powerful crap. I guess I better practice looking good losing to those damn SRT4's unless you can point me in the right direction of the company with the most successful turbo kit to date?
hate to tell you, his dodge may be a bit more reliable than your mexican Sentra......
a stock QR turbo kit will not beat a lightly modded SRT4...just the facts. without spending far more than $6,000+ you won't be able to beat him, really.

So are you saying specv is pretty much untuneable and crappy reliability? If that;s the case, I'm getting a mistubishi evo ASAP.

it's not untuneable, it's just expensive to get over 200whp out of it. Hell, even full bolt ons to get 180-185whp still costs like $3k+overall.......you're just gonna spend a lot of money making it fast, and that generally decreases reliability.
don't get an EVO yet, wait until the financial issues of Mitsu's motors division gets worked out.......
That's what he is talking about. The QR25DE hasn't been pleasing a lot of B15 owners.
I want to be a die hard nissan fan(on my 3rd se-r),but if the qr25 needs to go through years of testing to be perfected, then they should junk it and give us the friggin sr20det in the same body style. It must be a money thing for these big corporations or something. Can I swap the sr20det into my specv?

If anyone can break the 200 WHP mark on an SE-R w/ a QR25 (especially if NA), I give you mad props.
SRT4's are having all kinds of problems also to what I understand. If you wanna beat his SRT4, (19k car with steroidaial amounts of boost=problems) buy a WRX and show em what AWD is all about!...or you could wait till his SRT4 breaks and then say you have a faster car.
