I'd check with Travis at www.fi-r.com, he's built a monster spec that puts over 390hp to the ground. Sleeved block, replaced rods, crank, pistons, etc.

I know there are othersm, but can't think of the name off the top of my head.

Do you like costly projects? Why not just get a SRT-4 if you want a turbo. For the amount of cash you want to spend, you could get a STi or the upcomming EVO MR.

Also, what where you planning for the transmission? I don't think the stocker can hold all the boost you want to run.

The Spec V is what it is. NA mods are one thing, but I think it's a silly platform for big HP. Unless you have wods of cash and nothing better to do with it.

Go ahead. Fame away.

Nissan is number 1..... Not sure how you came to that, but that is nothing more then a opinion. Mini FWD skyline it could be. LOOK AWAY the domestic car is burning my eyes!!!! I don't know your mechanical or tunning abilites, but if you can find the componets that you need and some how get a tranny that can hold up, then ya, you might be able to beat a stock srt-4 or a 300HP STi or a EVO. It's your wallet.

I just don't understand people like you. Do you like to blow wods of cash to prove a point? If you think Nissan is all that, then why don't you start with a real sports car and get a TT 300ZX?

well actually once i own the car im goin to get a 350 Z. ya see i like most of nissan cars. 280z, 300z, new 240's silvias and the 350's, but my favorite is the skyline. therefore to me nissan rules all dude. ya see my plans for this car are goin to take years and years, im gonna keep this car for ever. i actually plan to find away to drop in the skyline R34 engine and tranny, but that not for years down the road. i work my ass off for my car and i allways will, i love the spec V and want it to be all i can make it. so i really dont even want to hear what u think is right to do to it, i bought it for me and for me only. i just want to find all the high tech internals i can with out being to what to do. i hope this will answer all of your questions.

I aplogize. I was a little out of line. I just saw your newbie status and the fact that you want to order internals so you can run boost to blow away other cars( I hear that crap all the time). You didn't mention the years part. I read so many post where people post big ass plans that involve wods of cash and most of the people who post a post like you posted never really do what the dream list has in mind.

I used to be a really big Nissan fan too. Untill I got this car. If you really know of a fix for a transmission upgrade, please post it. In stock form, I can't stand my S*^T box that nissan calls a transmission. My current plans are to trade in the car at warranty.

Also, I read some rumors that the Skyline is comming to the US in the 06 range. Not sure if it is true though.

unless you dump 10,000+ into the spec v building the block, sleeving, full standalone, and turbo, you will never beat a slightly modded SRT4 or EVO/STI.

So what u dont like nissan because of a shitty tranny, or is there more to the story?see i dont plan on having the turbo too soon, but ya gotta start somewhere so i think that intenals are a good place too start.

Not just the tranny. I've had my car at the dealer over 10 times now. It's getting old and I'm not amused.

A few cosmetic things needed to be fixed. The plastic molding under the door came loose on me and they had to send the car to the body shop (they tried to get out of covering it). I made them lign up the engine hood and trunk hood better for me (they looked like crap). The AC magicly stays ice cold minuets after I turn the AC off(no known problem). I forget everything now, but it's been a mess. I've been to 3 dealers and I'm not happy with either of them. I'm sure the state I live in has something to do with that though. I will never buy a car in this state again. I'll drive to Indiana so I can be protected by real lemon laws. The dealers here know the car pretty much needs to blow up in my face for there to be a real problem. So I have to fight on everything and even then, dealers try to tell me that it is not covered under the bumper to bumper waranty. My muffler started rusting already too. The dealer told me that was not covered. It is as much the car as it is the service that I get. Also, I drove a used NA 300ZX awhile back with 75K miles on it, and quality on that car is sooooo much nicer then a Spec V. I'm just overall upset that Nissan let quality fall. They have such a awsome past. Now they just joined VW and Audi and pushed cars to Mexico and they leave the factory with too many problems.
