Lightbulb QR25 Surge power at 4500 RPM??

Anybody have this in there automatic QR25DE? when you hit the gas and the RPM goes to 4500, it seems like the VTEC, it kicks in hard, do the intake manifolds have an a flapper gate in them, a 2 stage system? Or is this the VTC opening up the cams. It seems like a real kick in the pants at 4500 to 6000 RPM then it shifts.

Anybody enlighten me on the VTC or if we have a 2 stage intake manifold?
Thanks Chris

no, it's not VTC opening up the cams because CVTC is continuously variable.

I'd say that's about the point where the automatic tranny catches up with the power of the engine. I know what you mean, my boy has an auto SER, and in low rpm it makes a lot of noise but doesn't go anywhere. His top end kicks in good, and then when his 2nd intake runners open it just gets loud.

there is a second intake port that opens up at 4500. it is controled by a little vaccum relay that tells it when to open. there is a second butterfly valve that is below the one you see on the top. me and a buddy are going to try to open it sooner with an rpm activated switch and see what happens. but so far i havent heard of anyone doing it.
