u would still have one cat on the car why wouldn't it pass? i haven't read of a problem w/ someone not passing yet, just make sure u get the 02 sim so u dont get a ses light

Sorry, but that sounds like a guess answer. The car has two cats on it to meet the emission standards for the year it was produced. The non-cat header is for off road use only.
How often do you have to take the test? You could always have the stocker on for the test and then swap out after you get your window sticker.
is it a visual inspection?
cuz where i live they just check to make sure your car is not throwing any codes and no cel light
the only reason it says for off road use only is cuz it gets rid of a cat
I live in Illinois and we get tested every two or three years and it's just not a visual inspection. They check for hydrocarbon and NOx levels. Since the header without the cat eliminates a cat, it is quite possible that you will not pass emissions; however, I don't know how they do the testing is MASS. The reason I post is just to give you a better idea of what happens in different states. You really need someone from MASS to respond.....sorry buddy.
I live in Milford and recently had my Spec-V through the emissions test. All they did is plug it in and look for trouble codes. No exhaust sniffing on the dynamometer like they do on pre-OBDII cars.
I don't thnk you'll have any trouble but if you do, just put the old exhaust manifold back on and have the car retested. It's not that big of a job.

you'll pass as long as you wire the o2 sensor correctly. Some places do a visual and will not let you pass since you have put the header on replacing the precat with nothing.
i live in MA too
depending on the year car (and the inspection station) they dont even check exhaust
ive got a 2003 sentra , and in my past 2 inspections they've never done more than pull it up, check to see if the lights work and beep the horn. i guess they assume that a new car (mine only has 4800 miles on it too) with low miles will pass anyways. i DO remember seeing something on the screen that said something to the effect of "emissions test not required for this year" or something
try it out...worst case in MA... u get a reject sticker, and u have 2 months to put the stock header back on and get a new sticker free of charge

think about that for a second... most inspection station tech's are on the dumb side, i doubt they'd notice if u removed the pre-cat
they test the exhaust here ( texas) along with a visual inpsection. whats weird is my friends 1993 VW Corrado VR6 12v with a neupseed p-flow and a techtonics free-flow cat back ( with a straight throught mid-pipe) passed inspection, so i dont know why you wouldnt pass without one of your cats. since we have LEV rated cars, they might test your exhaust depending on when you bought the car. i have yet to have mine tested. If you fail just slide the techie a 20 and tell him to pass you lol.
