Pinging Ticking sound

Hey everybody, I had just purchased a 2002 Spec V. After I drive it for a little bit and park it, after the car is shut off. It has a pinging sound. Was wonderin what this sound could be. Any help would be appreciated.

The exhaust.

How many miles you got on that thing? You need to keep tabs on the pre-cat and engine. You might be able to get a new engine before the drivetrain warranty is out.

Also mke sure the recall work has been done on it.

just the exhaust heat shields cooling down, they all do that...

Yes dont worry. Its just the heatshields.
