Well, I went to install the pulley today and it did not work out for me. I could not get the crank pulley bolt loose. I started about an hour or so before dark and ended up running out of daylight. I doubt that even if I had all day that I could not have gotten the bolt out. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get this bolt out? Any help would be great. Thanks.
Get the longest breaker bar you can find, put it on there, and whack the end with a hammer. It really needs an impact wrench on it, but sometime you have to improvise.
man i had the same problem on my 200sx when i did the crank pully. a friend of mine who is a mech. helped me out. when you get ready to spin the bolt it wants to turn the motor over. he put the socket wrench on the bolt and then had me go bump the motor(with the key) over. this broke the bolt loose and the rest of the time we could spin it off without turning the motor over. havent tried on my spec yet but will be soon.

Yeah...hit it with a impact gun! That is how I got mine out! Thats the only way. I would tell you what we initially did, but it was very very retarded of us. Trust me...impact gun is the only worthwhile investment you can make for your car. That and the chiltons books!

Thats what I initially did actually. I had my brother crank the car, while I held onto that bolt with a ratchet. WHAM!...not something you want to do!

You are supposed to prop the breaker bar, not hold it if you do the turn-key method. Just don't try that on a Honda. hehe. Not my preferred method.
Anyway, I stuffed towels in between the pulley and the belt to keep the engine from turning over while I hit it with the impact gun. Holding it in gear just didn't work. You don't really have to worry about the belt cause it should be replaced anyway. Safe and easy.
uhh, you guys need to just calm down and do it so you dont mess anything up. it took me about 15 min to do mine. i took the wheel off then the two ten mills then took an impact and it spun right off. then used a puller to pull it off, put the new one on with rubber mallet then tightened with impact then with torque wrench. it was easy, didnt hurt a thing and it works great. i know tools can be expensive but it saves time and wear and tear on your parts.
i didnt really notice a difference with mine but all i have is an intake for now. but what do you have done?
i am going to order the balance shaft removal very soon.
has anyone had one yet and does it do alot?
let me know
Nick
how much of a difference did the pulley do ? performamce wise.

i noticed a little faster rev when not in gear. other wise it didnt seem to make a difference. but with fly wheel, balance shaft removal it will help alot. im sure on the dyno it would show a diffence too. its like doing any one mod, you dont notice a big diffence. but they all add up.
