AEBS vs Hotshot headers

In the recent Import Tuner mag, they talk about the AEBS header and its great hp increase. Hot shot also claims the good hp increase. But, AEBS is claiming that their header isnt triggering the ses light and that you dont have to relocate the 02 sensor. So, which is still better? I have been considering hotshot for a while now, but now after reading about AEBS, it seems to cause less problems and still has good hp increase. By the way, does anyone know the price of the AEBS cuz i know its a 2 piece header.

any header can be made not to trigger a ses light with a 02 simulator. The aebs header costs around $560.00 and is a little harder to install than some of the other products on the market. I have the hs header and have been very happy with the results. I have also installed the aebs header on a friends car and its a very nice unit as well. Bottom line is how much money do you want to spend.

How do you avoid triggering the ses light? And why does it happen in the first place? I'm about to order a HS header here..

Edit: Bleah, nevermind, not about to order a HS header. For some reason I read the price wrong and thought they were in the $250 range, but they're really $422. I guess it'll have to wait a while.

You can find it for 300-350 if you look hard enough.

The SES light comes on because of the 02 sensor not being behind the second Cat. You just need a shop to weld an 02 bung which is VERY cheap and easy to do. AEBS already has the 02 bung behind the cat. HS has a higher torque peak. AEBS has a more flat torque curve. It is all about the money....

Good luck

Although, I did find that if you order a hotshot header from optauto.com you get $42 savings, so it comes down to $380..

http://www.optauto.com/webstore/prod...ck=yes&dept=68

that's better, but still not quite in my price range. Might have to go with underdrive pulley or something next, instead.

Hehe, our posts were at the same time so my post that comes right after yours doesn't make a whole lotta sense. I've been lookin for a while now, do you possibly remember where you saw the HS for 300 - 350? I'll keep on looking.

the 02 sensor bung, sounds easy, but u need a shop and to weld something, not convenient for a lot of people. Im a jack up the car on the driveway, with a small tool chest setup...lol If i use a shop, 300-350 dollar header turns into 450 or so, trying to avoid that. if anyone have pics of that process please respond.

relocating the 02 sensor is easy. If you plan to get a aftermarket exhaust you can get it made with the bung already in place. I know vrs and stromung will sell it to you with the bung already there. If you are planning to use your stock exhaust then I would remove the center section of the exhaust(cat to mufler section) and take it to a muffler shop and have the bung welded in place it should not cost more than $50.00. Also the hs header comes with a bung and a o2 extention harness. I also have pics of the process if you need them.

Exactly, but the cost for a 02 bung is a little cheaper down here.
Most shops would only charge 30 bucks.

Could I get you to post those?

I need to feel confident that I'm gonna know what I'm doing before I order an expensive ass part, and risk my car's safety, hehe =)

Neither Nismo Header comes with down pipe and secondary cat.
One is like the HS header (make your own extension)
The other one just comes with a pre-cat. Down pipe and secondary cat is the same on both...STOCK
