I installed an AEM cold air intake yesterday and now my Spec V will not start. I have no idea what is wrong with it. The car will try to start up, but it will not turn over. I double checked everything to make sure I installed and attached everything correctly.
I followed all of the instructions and I am worried now. Any advice as to what could be wrong would be greatly appreciated.
I am thinking about reinstalling the factory intake and letting the dealer fix it.

put the stock intake back in, perfectly! and have it towed to Nissan.
I thought that the car would start if the MAF was blown, it just wouldn't go over 2,000/2,400 RPMs (something like that)? Or is it if the MAF goes when its running, it is rev limited until shut off, and then won't restart? I would like to know in case mine should go.

It won't start at all. It just makes the sound like it is about to turn over but it never does. I am in the process of installing the OEM intake and I think it looks good. I just hope it looks good enough for Nissan to fix it under warranty.
If Nissan does blame me, what is a rough estimate of a new MAF?
Yes the service engine soon light does come on. I tried to start it and the service engine light comes on and the car will not turn over. What is the procedure that I would have to do to get the car to start again? Thanks for the advice.
hey...i'm sure i sound stupid but the bolts holding the stock intake together...how many are there? and what size? I installed my Injen CAI before a big move and i cant seem to located the screws and bolts in the thousands of boxes that i had. i'm in no hurry to but the stock intake back on, but if something does go wrong, i want to but it back so the dealer can fix it. and i need the bolts to do that, any clue on the size, how many and where i can get replacements?
i did my AEM CAI by myself and have had no problems, no engine light, nothing at all. make sure all the seals are tight and snug, and then try. also check to see if your intake is rubbing your battery connections, cuz that would blow your MAF if you had current. and next time, if you dont know what you're doing get some help cuz you'll mess up your car big time trying it again

if you look right where the maf is there are multiple harness connectors one of them is for the starter make sure you did not knock it loose when you were doing the install. It happened to a friend of mine. the connectors are bolted to the drivers side strut tower.
Just thought I'd throw this in, even though you posted this like 2 weeks ago so I hope it's fixed (you should let us know =) But I installed my AEM intake a few days ago, and as soon as I turned my key to get my car to start after the installation it was about to turn over and then nothing, couldn't even get that far again. So I looked the engine over again and decided it was because of the negative battery connection (which it was), moving it around a bit let me start the car again but after driving and turning it off, I couldn't get it to start again without wiggling the battery connection around.
I also couldn't tighten it because the screw was stripped and the metal peice that goes over it was bent into it, tried for like an hour and no progress. As it is right now I've had no problems for like 3 days so I think I fixed it, I just pushed the ring down hard on the negative terminal on the battery, seems to be fine now.
Just thought I'd throw that in there, at first it sounded like a similar problem to my own. Let us know how it turns out.
