Question Check Engine light

I just put an AEM short ram intake on my car 3 weeks ago. My check engine light just came on today. Has anyone who has put an intake on your car encounterd the same problem? I think that it has something to do with the MAF sensor.

I would check all the connections on the maf and the aem intake. The maf on this car is very sensitive I have heard that a short ram intake will some times cause a check engine light. As long as the car does not go into limp mode you should be ok.

Did you unhook the MAF when you installed it?

Why did it take so long to turn on? It has been like three weeks. I did unplug the sensor while the battery was hooked up.

By the way, does anyone know where I can buy the AEM extension so I can turn my short ram into a cold air intake? I think that all I need is that inlet tube.

you can get it from any aem dealer, but you will have better luck getting it directly from aem. As for your check engine light I would go to autozone and get the code reset. Make sure to find out the code number. there is a list of the codes on www.b15sentra.net that will tell you what the code means.
