Exhaust for base SE-R

I hear that the hp difference between the SE-R and the Spec V is in the exhaust system. I am getting a greddy evo exhaust in a week or so. I was wondering if the custom greddy exhaust i put on makes up for the hp loss the SE-R has to the spec V?

You may get about 4-5 hp gain from the exhaust.

you should run a search for the threads discussing the diffrences between the se-r and the spec v. There should be lots, and this thread will only re-open arguments as to what the diffrences are.

Seems to sugest exhaust and ECU make the diffrence.

I have to point out that SE-R's and Spec V's with the same amount of mods almost always dyno within 2whp of each other.......meaning that there is little to NO differences in the ECU.

As for the exhaust, there may be a 2-4hp difference stock, but the full 5hp Nissan claims is mostly marketing BS. Basically, SE-R's and Spec V's will end up with the same amount of power if you mod them at all. Why do you think manual SE-R's are just as fast as Spec V's at the track (1/4 mile).

The main thing Spec's have is handling........and better gear spacing for 2003 (02 Spec's actually had wider spacing than standard 5 speed SE-R's)

02 base se-r dynoing at 165whp... Running 14.70@94mph
The only thing better on a specv is the HLSD (and I like my red sets
