Question blown MAF poll

Ok I am really not sure if I want to install my CAI that is coming. I want to first take a poll and see how many spec V owners have blown their MAF cause of this mod. This will ultimatly be the decision if I do this mod or not. Also any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanx for voting too.

same problem

i'm getting ready to take my car for it's 4th maf. my maf went out twice short ram and once cai. the first time was short ram with matrix air filter. the second was with injen cai. the third was short ram with the injen intake. i'm wondering if you could use a maf from 90 - 96 300 zx non turbo or 99' - 01' sentra 2.0 se. if anybody knows if this is possible please reply back? because spec-v maf suck ass. and it's a big inconvience having to shift at 2400 rpm with a blown maf.

I have to be honest, this (the Spec) is the first car that I havent had a filter on. On my integra i had sevral diffrent CAI's, on my maxima I had a pop charger, on the mustang we have always had CAI's... the list goes on.

That being said I obviously believe that a CAI is a good mod, but i'm not willing to try it on the Spec V just yet. I keep hearing all these problems. I've been running a 'box' K&N since about 800 miles.

Does anyone think it could be the type of CAI that you put on. It sounds like injen is having ALOT of problems with blowing MAF's. AEM and HS I havent heard about blowing the MAF yet. For the people that have read this thread...please tell your friends with Spec V's to come over and give their opinions too. Thank You all soo much for the info so far.
