Clearing SES codes.

So I've cleared codes in my car before after multiple attempts but this time it's going on a week and a half with no luck. Is there any reason I'm not able to get into diagnostic mode to clear the SES light, rather than me just not doing the timing right? I tried it for a half hour straight today with no success so I'm starting to think theres something wrong with the car.

Another option is to go to Autozone. Have them clear the codes. If they can't do it then you would have more issues than timing the "peddle dance".

Ha ya it's annoying as hell. I didn't know autozone did that. Have you had it done there? I knew they would check the code but I didn't know they could clear it. Is it also free?

I believe that checking/clearing the code is free. I haven't done it there cuz I have my own OBDII reader

Ya I knew they could check the code but I didn't know that they could clear it. Thanks for the help, I'll go give them a try today.

i actually don't believe they are clearing codes anymore for liability reasons, they only check them. here anyway.
if the code isn't going away, you need to get whatever it is fixed though. if you clear it and it keeps coming back it's not fixed

Well I took it to auto zone today and the guy said its against company policy to clear SES codes anymore since I guess they got sued a while back. But after a little pleading he reluctantly agreed and cleared it for me. It had a crank sensor code in it even though I had hat replaced a week ago so now if it come back I know it wasn't fixed.

CPS is a recall. If it does come back I'd take it to a "reputable" dealer.

According to Nissan I've had all my recalls done. Yet they don't seem to do a damn thing considering I had the recall on my pre cat which blew up anyway as well as the CPS that died and the ECM recall that caused it to malfunction. Oh, and the butterfly screw recall didn't do anything either cuz the engine ate a few of those right up as well. I'm selling this car tomorrow and it will be the last Nissan I ever own due to how much money this thing has cost me at the manufacturers fault. Nissan won't stand behind their product at all anymore and I'm not going to be the one to break the fall.
