This is my first thread in Nissanforums.com. I have a 2003 Sentra SE-R Spec V and lately I've been having problems with it starting up. When its been sitting outside in the hot weather for a long time it won't start up immediately. It doesn't crank but the lights come on in the dashboard. After several tries it finally starts up. It seems to start up fine when it's colder outside, like in the mornings. Someone suggested that it might be a relay problem. Does anyone have any ideas on this problem and how I might go about fixing it?

I have a 02 se-r. my car starts up but onces in a while it takes time to start up. it cranks and cranks for 3-5 secs. then starts. other people told me it could be the fuel pump. the fuel pumps are weak on this car. try letting sit on the on position for 5 seconds then start it. it works for me. hope this help
had similar problems with an '93 & '03 Sentra...it was a ground problem n after an hour or so cleaming all of the ground contacts never had the problems again.
Thanks guys for your help!! I tried Makavelimel's suggestion, and although I had to let it sit for more than 5 seconds, I think it works. Mikes-Ontario, I will bring up your suggestion when I take my car to the dealership to have them take a look at it.
