Alright, I know that the SpecV stock will not beat a stock SRT-4. Now what i want to know is, What mods would make the fast enough to beat a stock SRT-4.
I auto-x regularly against one and it is fairly modded, and I will beat him on occasion, so the blanket statement that you need a turbo, should be qualified by what type of racing you are talking about.

That or Spray. Fully bolted N/A spec V with a Good driver could probalby hang with a SRT-4 with a decent driver.

I've driven an SRT-4, as well as my spec v (obviously) and I can tell you, IMO, even a mildly boosted spec v would walk a SRT-4 stock. due to the displacement alone, the spec v would have an advantage.
i'll be the first to tell you that i'm not at all familiar with boosted spec vs since i JUST got my car, but i'm very familiar with the srt-4, and although it will pull nicley through 2nd-3rd, a boosted spec v shouldn't have any problem taking it.
SRT-4=NEON=P.O.S. I hate em!! Its not fair all cars should have an option of a turbo from the factory, but I don't even think a fully bolted Spec V could take one. But I could be wrong. For what they are they make good power. I had a Prelude that was putting down 265 at the wheels w/NO2 and I raced srt4 but it was boosting like 25psi and had a few mods. I won but it was very close. I could race spec Vs on just hte motor all day and they didn't have a chance.

Yeah, but you and I both know he wasn't talking about autocrossing lol.
A QR25 with a t3/t4 at 8psi will easily walk an SRT4. But what about a displacement advantage? LOL. the difference is .1L. Negligible. You're talking a stock turbo car with a tiny little turbo vs. a higher compression car running a turbo capable of 400whp. There's a pretty big difference there.
The differences become more apparent when you try to run more than 10psi on the QR25 and the motor goes sky high, whereas the SRT motor can withstand 500whp before having any decent issues. Neon or not, they're fast.

Sorry, but the qr25 isn't the world's greatest motor either. Sure, a turbo qr could take a stock srt-4 however you're dumping at least 5k for a turbo after tuning, put 5k into a srt-4 and you're going to be walking most turbo V's anyday.
