Well heres the issue i have on 03 sentra se-r spec v. and it hadnt turned on for a while. I have about 2 months with it not working and it sucks. I took it to a nissan dealership and the told me it was the computer but they charged me alot to fix it and i had to get a new ecm. Anyway i got an ecm and i put it on the car supposedly it is supposed to turn on but it doesnt. See the problem is that there is no spark when i crank it and the injectors dont pulsate at all. Does anybody know what it can be Please help. And also i need to know where i can get wiring diagrams over the internet. Please thanks

Interesting. I just went to look at an 02 today, a very attractive price, the car is nice except it has *exactly* the symptoms you describe. It has no spark, the gas pump doesn't prime when the ignition is turned on. I've no idea if it is significant that red and yellow gas pump indicators light up. It's probably out of gas, but there's another major problem, obviously like yours. I noticed that neither the gas gauge nor the temp gauge moved off the end stops. The Km total came up on the odometer.
We got the engine to crank and the battery was good, so I can eliminate those two items.
Overall my and my mechanic's opinion on the problem, is that we both think it is probably a deprogrammed immobiliser key. This is a known occurence on 2002 Maximas (and up), and in that case, what happens is that for some unknown reason the security chip in the smart ignition remote becomes deprogrammed and the car is immobilised. In such a case it is necessary to have the car towed to a dealer and reprogrammed. About $100 for that, I believe. Plus tow charges.
Of course that is for the Max.
However all the Nissans share many features... I wonder ...
So logic tells me to ask you:
* Do you have a remote locking device such as a keyfob?
* If so, did the dealer test it? Or mention the possibility?
The particular 02 SER SPEC V I was looking at, did have a remote locking keyfob and I suspect that it may be the cause of the problem, in which case a 02 SPEC V for $5000 would seem like a pretty attractive price.

Just trying to be of mutual help.
Well heres the thing i had taken it to nissan and the people there told me it was the ecm, So i listened and i told them i would go ahead and replace it myself. So i did I spent about 250 dlls on the ecm and i connected it and no go it did the same thing. So i took it to a mechanic that knew about nissans and he called me the next day and told me to buy the crank sensor from the dealer so i did and it cost me 30 dlls. Then sure enough the car turned on and its running on the old ecm that i had. I have an ecm that i bought that i didnt even use do u should really check the crank sensor. I called nissan and they told me that the chip it has in the key only cuts off the fuel pump. The fact that u dont have spark or injection could be that crank sensor. Check that and see if it does anything.

Personally, I think these two things are really useful:
1) A universal OBD II scanner - available on ebay, to read error codes that may occur even before the MIL light comes on.
2) The vehicle's service or workshop manual available in CD form (A lot of Nissan manuals can be found on ebay, uk.) which shows all the specific error codes.
With these two items you'll be able to diagnose the fault yourself pretty quickly, and decide if a dealer needs to get involved.

The ECU should be covered under an 8 year, 80,000 mile warranty as my Nissan dealer told me. My 02 Spec-V is currently getting a new brain... for free! I should have it back tomorrow.

I should have mentioned this as well... my spec had the same symptoms as yours, no spark, but everything else electrical worked fine. I bought a used ECU for $85, which was supposed to be for the same configuration spec-v. This one did not work for whatever reason, it may be bad just like my original is, who knows. Anyways, I thought I'd let Nissan look at it since my options were exhausted, and they said that mine was covered under warranty. I'll ask for more details about what was wrong with my ECU when i go to pick it up tomorrow. You might want to try another Nissan dealer, or ask the other one about the warranty.
If you are in Central Florida, I can let you know which dealer to go to.
