2002 Nissan Sentra Tranny

I was just wondering if anyone could give me an idea on how much it would cost to rebuild my tranny? Thanks in advance

Depends on what needs to be replaced! Have you cracked it open to see what is damaged?

sorry bout that I meant to tell you my problems also..

it grinds going into third, my dad says its the syncronizing, and also sometimes it doesn't go into reverse all the way.. i put all my strength into pulling it back and it seems to just sit there half way in (i heard there was a recall for this problem, but I don't know)

Yeah man..I had this same problem! I was told it would cost about the same to fix it as buying a new one because to fix the synchro's I think you have to practically rebuild the transmission. I replaced mine with the '04 tranny. It has better gear ratios than the older models. I felt a difference in acceleration. If you want one, let me know. I have an extra '04 tranny.

Hey dude, I'm having the same type of issue, huge grinding noise/rattle when downshifting into 3rd. My car's AT so there's not much i can do about it other than stick it in "overdrive off" and hope it doesnt hop into 4th at 70mph (SE-R Automatic tranny is retarted, it shifts into 5th gear at 190kmh (115mph)). So, question is, did you ever find out what the actual problem was?

no guys nothing yet.. my car is being retarded... one it goes into limp mode, which no mechanic can find out whats wrong, but tonight I found out that my MAF sensor had been rubbing and wires were exposed to bare metal so im fixing that tomorrow, and two every once in awhile the timing goes off and i sound like a harley, but also tonight i read somewhere on this forum that the 02's had oversensitive knock sensors.. so im gonna try to fix that tomorrow as well... as for the tranny, it has to wait until I get this stuff fixed, new tires and rims, and oil change/tune up...

if anyone knows where i can get an 04 tranny for the spec v... then hit me up thanks
