alright, i was driving with my buddy a couple days ago and my car was fine. then we got back on the freeway and it was harder to shift into 6th gear as well as taking it out of 6th. the car only has 41000 miles on it (its an 04). one of my buddies said it might be the clutch going out but 6th gear still works. it dosent slip or anything. its exactly the same except its harder to shift into it. another friend said i need to change my tranny fluid. any ideas?
Have you ever changed your transmission fluid? jw
could be the clutch to, or the sycho's are playing hell with you. check the clutch fluid. Let us know, and someone else can post something..... I'm not all there right now lol..

i havent tried changing the tranny fluid yet, i dont really think i would need to. i only have 40 thousand miles on my car. but then again i have been living in the middle of the dessert where its really sandy and hot all the freakin time. i just got out of the marine corps and am back home in washington now. so mabey i should try that. i might just take it into a dealership as i am still on extended warranty. and as chimmike said (and you) it might be a bad syncro. i really dont think its the clutch cause like i said earlier, the gear works fine. its not slipping or anything and still has all the power it did before.
not saying that this IS the problem but it vey well could be the clutch. when mine went, it would still go into all of the gears but it was hard to get it into 4th and 6th. ended up having to replace the whole clutch assembly including the throwout bearing, pressure plate, etc.

Do yourself a favor. Change the fluid with Redline or something compairable. Did wonders for my 04 spec.
