what gas for 02 sentra spec-v

I have heard mixed opinions about whether you really need to put premium gas in the Spec-v's. Does it really matter for this engine?

Premium is recommended, and it's all that I put in. I've noticed a lack of performance when I've used lower grades.

werd, when using lower grade gas, you'll hear valve chatter... meaning that less than 91 gas and the spec dont get along too well. It says in your user manual

a lot, especially on the 2002-2003. 91+ is needed. if you have an 02, 93+ would be ideal. the manual specefically states to run premium and if you run regular to not drive over 3000 RPM and to mix it with premium.

don't be cheap, run premium.

at 13 gallons, your looking at spending an extra 2.60$ per fill up from empty.

I've put 93 in all but once, and thats because where I was only had 92, but I just put in 2 or 3 gallons to get me back so I could run 93 back in it.

I run 93 on mine only. Not comfortable putting in a lower grade into it. Just like previously stated, don't be cheap....it costs and extra 3 bucks or so to fill up a tiny 13 gal tank

Im not cheap, but I dont see any reason for anything higher than 89 if I havent had a problem. Of course, my car is nowhere near old and hasnt seen the test of time (several years) of running on 89, but its been working, so ill keep it as that. Any even if its 3 bucks on a 13 gal tank, its 3 bucks everytime

Yeah, I forgot to mention. Cause it was pointed out that you really do need 93 with 02/03.
