replacing the filter

i recently got in to an accident. on the front driver side. the airfilter was smashed but the AEM CAI Tubing is still good. do you know what the size of the filter the AEM come with so i can just buy the filter and not the whole CAI just to replace the filter?
or can you fit a different performance airfilter on the end of the CAI system?

just a little info on the accident:
damages to the car $7,000
original cost without "family hookup" $12,000

The filter has a 3" inlet.

Any filter with a 3" inlet would work, but I'd go with K&N. OH and the AEM filter is a K&N just with AEM stamped on it.

Sorry about the accident.

And like he said, 3 and K&N makes the better air filter.

You can do the K&N by size, or you can call aem or visit the website www.aempower.com and ask them for a part number for the filter and then order the original part from an AEM dealer.

would it mattered in performance if the dynamics of the filter would matter?
if the filter was stock CAI filter compared to:
~sharper cone shape
~broader cone shape
~longer
~shorter
i dont know if i explained that well

well, im trying to say is does the filter shape matter at all in performance or all of them the same?

does that typhoon thing work? that metal piece that "creates" a vortex? sort of works like a Velocity Stack with "fins" to create the swirl

Get a K&N filter the same size as your AEM (which was a K&N filter) filter was.
