AEM or Injen

I am not going to ask who makes intakes for the 2.5L. I want to hear from the people that have these intakes how they like them. I am going to go with the short tube design and not the CAI that tucks down behind the fender.

short rams=not worth even spending money on. Better off getting a K&N flat panel stock replacement....in all seriousness.

Short rams suck in hot air.

Are there any other options then. I looked around a bit last night and I saw either short rams or the long tube type. I had a volant in my frontier and it was a short ram but had an enclosure that suck from the fender (after I took out the silencer)

PS--- Do the 04 spec-v have silencers in the fenders.

just get the CAI or don't bother spending money on an intake of any type.

mike is pretty much right, only thing that the short ram intake has over a K&N drop in is the looks under the engine bay.

WAI is going to be lounder then the CAI.

its worth the extra money to get the full CAI.

I have the AEM intake. Comes with a K&N filter that has an AEM stamp on it. You can use the same K&N filter cleaning kit and you never have to replace your filter.

Alright!! Cold air it is. I think the AEM one looks a little better. The peak torque comes in lower and that is what I am after

Stay away from Injen for our model. AEM, NISMO, and HotShot are the companies I have seen and worked with and they get the

I don't know what your talking about, I have a CAI by AEM and I have noticed a difference in how must better the car breathes, but you don't REALLY feel the difference until you get a cat back exhaust and a CAI.

I have even heard that the NISMO CAI has even better hp gains then the AEM but I don't know anyone with a NISMO AEM and at 360.00 I would say get the AEM.

The real difference the "butt dyno" can feel is from a header. A CAI and catback alone makes minimal differences...5-8 WHP total. A header delivers over twice that.

What do you think it would take to hit the 200 WHP mark on the Spec-V??? I'm thinking Header, highflow cat, cat back system, CAI, and a new crank Pulley. You Think that would do it?

Why not, you take a stock Spec-V an add a full intake system and exhaust with light weight pulleys and maybe a cam, that would have to do it, I have heard that a header can give the spec-v an extra 20hp.

What does the spec-v have for stock whp??? 160whp?

Well, stock they have 175hp at the CRANK, but at the wheels your only puting down like 150ish, in order to hit 200hp (at the wheels) your gonna need something like intake, header, exhaust, SAFC-2, Balance Shaft Removal, pully, cams to put you really close to 200, like 180, to acheive it you gotta add NAWWWSS or a TC.
