k&n air filters sentra 2005 1.8

Has anyone tried to use a k&n air filter in a sentra 05 1.8? http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...Prod=33-2031-2. I know that on their website it doesnt list it for the 05 model, but for the 03/04 model. I tried asking support, but they couldnt really give me a good answer either. He said that it might work out, but they may have not tested it.
thanks

it won't make any noticeable difference in power OR fuel economy. Not worth the $50.

yes, the 05 is identical to the 04 so mods will work on it.

Go to a local wreckers and pick up an airbox from a 'sportier' model or either a sports orientated Nissan that you guys get over there that has a larger air intake path to the box, it'll probably run a larger filter if thats the case.

Measure up what you've got to play with an find a factory airbox, replace your factory one with this one and your off - clean panel filter etc and you've also got a larger air intake to the box from the factory......its a sleeper thing you see here and there, works well though.

you can always just get a wai or a cai for the car but get the proper one

but yes I agree the k & n wont give you any noticable effects they do flow a lil bit better but it is worth the 50 bux to me only cause its washable and you dont have to replace it for a long time
its better in the long run just pull it out every now and then based on your location and driving style
you know look once every couple weeks and clean it when its dirty and it will last a long time with out buying new filters hats the true worth of these things

If your going to do that.. why not just take off the bottom half of the stock air box? instead of doing that complicated waste of time swap? all your doing is removing the pipe that goes into the fender wall... so you make the intake inlet bigger. just throwing something at you if your bored.

Just buy the intake damn it quit fubaring the car...

I used it, No real gains and i didn't see much on MPG, but over A lifetime of a car, K&N's are great because you never have to replace them, just clean them, which is at every 50,000 miles or so.

Hi!

I'm using PiperCross drop in filter on my QG16DE autobox. It gave a marginal gain (didn't dyno). I fabricate my own CAI by removing the intake resonator box and replace it with an 3" aluminium tubing all the way into the fenderwell.

That gave me noticable difference. Ofcourse it's not as good as a cone filter, but it's worth the money (USD50).

A plus note, at WOT there's induction noise... not as loud as open pod. Just right.

Regards,
