Whenever I gun it the fuel levels drop and then when the car sits in an idle position such as waiting at a stop light the fuel levels go back up. Is this supposed to do this? Also I've found out that whenever I go about 15 miles or so I don't lose any gas mileage for some reason.

yes... the gas sloshes around in the tank.,. when you accelerate it all goes to the back of the tank and the float or whatever's in the tank would move up a bit.. when you stop, the gas sloshes the other way then levels off, hence it going back to the normal level.
