gas milage

i have a 02 sentra that is getting horrible gas milage, i have found out that the fuel filter never needs to be changed, and just wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem, and what i should do.

normal driving, maybe a little high revving but nothing out of the norm.

Hi!
I was short on Gas and Had to get to the Airport.
Scared to be stuck on the Highway I crawled between 70km/h - 90km/h.
Easy on the Rev's, in doubt's even turning of the Headlights I got 120km on the reserv

But next time I use a sparetank

check: air filter, fuel filter, injectors(its cold they might be leaking), timing, plugs, distributer cap, wires, o2 sensor, tires, tire pressure.

Run a diagnostic test and see if any codes pop up

slow200....your post is a great reason why you should stick to what you know.

1) can't check the timing on this car, it's continuously variable
2) there is no distributor, it's coil on plug ignition
3) there are no plug wires...it's coil on plug ignition.

How many miles do you have on the car? Are you doing regular maintaince at appropiate intervals? How long have you had this condition? Is your car modified in any way? Is this an intermittent or continuous problem? There's no way to figure out what's wrong based on your post. Poor mileage is a symptom of many possible problems.
