My 2001 sentra gxe has been tip top untill recently when I was driving north to palmdale and I was doing about 70 when the engine just plain out died on me. I had to pull over and I checked my gauges and I noticed nothing wrong.
I gave it a try but It wouldnt start though I could hear my started going.
I took the key out and put it back in and to the on position and my temp gauge was all the way up. Funny how it was fine just seconds ago. I had to wait for about 30 mins then it finally started and i took off.
Know whenever I drive to palmdale my engine dies about 4 or 5 times on the way there. I wait a few minutes then I start it up again. I dont know if its a temp thing or what.
Has anyone had this problem of the engine shuting off while driving at high speeds?
Your problem could be due to a plugged fuel filter.
When you turn the engine off immediately after driving on the highway, the water in the cylinder block will absorb the heat from the engine, and can't carry it away, so the water gets very hot. As soon as you start the engine up, the water circulates through the radiator and it cools down to normal temperature quickly. This is normal.
I called a local nissan dealer and they told me they would be happy to check and take care of recals for free. Its my only choice considering that Im always left over with chump change after paying bills.
