This is my first post. I have a 2001 Sentra GXE with about 24K Kms. Dealership told me I have to replace Rack and Pinion seal which is leaking. They must replace the whole unit, at $1150. CAD, + wheel alignment $100 CAD.
Is this the only way to do this? They say I don't drive it enough, so the seals get brittle and crack; hence the leak.
Any thoughts would be appreciated!!

I belive that you must replace the whole thing, but if you dont drive it often or just dont have the much money to piss in the wind buy a used assembly, im sure you could find someone to install it for less than the dealership wants if you can do it yourself.
