Does your Unorthodox Racing Pulley Squeal like Mad? (QG18DE)
Mine does!

I just installed a UR Underdrive Pulley along with 2 new Gates belts, and it is Squealing like Crazy!
..On startup, while downshifting, idling at a red light (Embarrassing!), when turning AC on/off or using power windows... so it *must* be the Alternator/AC drive belt.
It's been kind of cold here lately... near freezing at night, about 40-50 deg F in the mornings.. heating up to 60-65 deg F at midday.
But my stock pulley NEVER made noises like this, at Any temperature.

My belt tension is set like the stock belts were, kinda hard to describe... about 1/4" to less than 1/2" deflection at longest point on Alt/AC belt, the PS/WP has less travel so it's a bit tighter than that.

Those of you who have UR Pulleys on QG18DE, did your pulley Squeal??
If so, what did you do to Fix it? Tighten belts? Loosen belts?

I think maybe the UR Pulley is *too* polished?, the sucker was glass-smooth so maybe it doesn't "Grip" the belts as good as the stock pulley did.

I've tried cleaning all the pulleys/belts with 70% rubbing alcohol, water. This helped for a few minutes, but the squealing came right back. During the Install I was careful not to get any grime on the pulleys, everything's clean, all pulleys spin true.

-----
Notes:
-I got the pulley Super fast from Mossy, along with Gates belts too.
-Installation was relatively easy.
-..but recommended belts on UR Website were off a bit
..Alt/AC was a little tight, shoulda been bigger
..PS/WP was too big, shoulda been smaller.
(Instructions that came with the pulley showed sizes that Would have fit better)
-SOTP Butt Dyno noticed a Little more willingness to rev from 3000rpm up.
..more detailed Writeup will probably follow, right now the Squealing is really Pissing me off!

New belts...
They need to be retensioned after a few hours of use
And aluminum pulleys need a bit more tension than normal iron pulleys

I found that the belts need to be tighter with the UR pulleys on my SR20DE.

Is it possible that you switched the belts around? If not, then maybe all you need to do is tighten the tensionor a little more.

I too ordered my pulley/belts from Greg, and it fit and installed perfectly with no symptoms that you have.

velardejose, lshadoff, & J2KGXE,
Thanks guys, that did the trick! I tightened the "Alternator/AC" belt to almost NO deflection; now it runs quiet, no more Squeaking! Now that's what i'm talkin about... Smooth!
The "Power Steering/Water Pump" belt was ok where I had it before.

Found a flat empty stretch of road... topped out at 120 mph, 5th gear @ 5500 rpm.
I'm at about ~3500ft elevation, 50 deg F, southern California.
