I was wondering if anyone has painted the valve cover on the 1.8L engine? If so how did you get the valve cover off--or if anyone knows how to get it off i would appreciate some help. Thank you--i searched the forums and couldnt find anything about it. I removed all the bolts on the outside holding it down but it wont budge after that so i was wondering if there was a special trick to it or just pry the B**** off--hehe. Thanks
Thanks i needed that--its not the same valve cover though but it helped. I got mine off there was on bolt that i didnt see that was holding it down. I sanded it down painted it and put it back on. I first used some self sealant--some liquid stuff that is suppose to make a seal--it didnt work. Oil leaked out onto my headers and started a fire--that was not fun :dumbass: I ordered a new seal from nissan--i cant believe they didnt have one in stock--they havnt had anything for the sentra in stock every time i needed something--like a headlight and seat covers. for now im using the old seal. but the cover looks good. So if anyone else trys it get another seal first then do the project. Trust me on that.
Does anyone know how much a new VC is?? from the dealership?? and is gutting out your header cat a good idea?? my friend is doing it on his eclipse and said it doesnt hurt anything as long as you dont do the secondary cat? Thanks
Painting the cover do you need too use a specific type of paint as the cover on my primera is the plastic type and was wondering if anyone who has painted these used a specific type of paint and primer. Any help on this would be very much appreciated as i would like too paint mine and brighten up my engine bay ..
Thanx
Pedro...
