2000 Sentra oil filter location?

I can't seem to locate the oil filter on my daughter's new (used) Sentra.
Where the heck is it?

Thanks.

on the back of the block, almost directly above and to the passenger side of the exhaust.

I found that you need to clean the oil off every time. The oil burns and smells real bad. O, You need to get under the car to get to it.

Yeah you can say That again chrisCJ ! Two days after my oil change and my car *still* smells of burnt oil, nasty. You're right, only way is from underneath the car. I've seen worse though.. Honda Civics locate their oil filters in a similar location, albeit right *above* the catalytic converter.. OUCH!

So I was at Walmart picking out my oil filter on their little computer thing; and I noticed the oil filter for the SER was longer...

Fram PH6607 $4.48 @ Walmart (for 1.8L QG18DE)
Fram PH7317 $3.97 @ Walmart (for 2.5L SER)

Same outside diameter, same thread pitch & depth, rubber O-rings are identical, only the PH7313 is Longer, and cheaper to boot! More oil capacity so I bought it and installed it during my last oil change. Fits perfect.

Engine now holds like 3.1 qts of motor oil instead of 2-7/8 qts, yippee.
