I got the engine light come on for my 2001 Sentra. and I went to the dealer and check and they said it will cost me 700& to fix the problem because they have to replace the P0420 code, and the whole catalytic converter,.....

yesterday when I was driving, the engine light go off suddenly....What should I do now,?? continue changing the part they recommend or just FORGET it?

forget it. probably just the O2 sensor. a P0420 code is usually a leak somewhere causing the o2 sensor to read "lean"..........or that code is commonly for a bad O2 sensor.

The Check Engine light will go off if you drive three times and the ECU does not detect the malfunction. It is stored in the ECU for the next 40 times you drive and is then erased.
