Engine keeps reving even if no pressure applied on gas pedal

Hi everyone,
I think I have a small problem with my new 05 Sentra 1.8S. When shifting at high RPM (5K+), the engine will keep reving between shifts. This causes a gap of 2K+ rmps between shifts and does not make a confortable drive.

2500rpms (Accelerating from 2nd)
6000rpms (Engaging clutch and releasing gas pedal)
Shifting
When engaging 3rd gear, engine is still running at 6000rpms (Might have dropped to 5800).
Releasing clutch and pressing gas pedal (At this point, the enging drops to around 3500 rpms. The drop in rpms makes the car tilt forward, as if does when your breaking)

Am I doing something wrong? Am I expecting too much from my QG18DE? Is this simply a mather of "break in" period and should disapear as I keep adding millage to the engine?

Thank you all for your help.

Sounds like your throttle body is sticking or there is something wrong with the sensor....take it to the dealer.
