Rev Cut At 4500rpm

Hi,
have since bought over a buddy's 01 sunny with the QG16 engine, it was previously FI, but have taken the whole kit out. But now I am facing problems. The RPM cuts out at 4500rpm? My buddy claims that this happened only after he changed the alternator, spark plugs and distributor. I have since changed the plugs and alternator, but still no use. Could it be the distributor? But the engine doesn't looks like it has a distributor? Anyone experience this before? Pls help.

The QG engines do not come with a distributor and i encountered a problem like this when my maf. sensor had blown . The car was only cutting off and when i got it running it was revving to 4500rpm.

if your buddy said he replaced the distributor, he's talking out his ass and doesn't really know what he did.

How can I solve this problem? Wat could it be that is affecting this? Pls advise?

this isn't the kind of thing we can tell you without being able to look at it.

i suggest you bite the bullet and take it to a mechanic.
