Question question about the sentra

Hello all.
I have a 2004 sentra 1.8L S.
Is there any risk of dammaging the engine by letting it hit redline?
Also I find I get better power from the car at 3000RPM and up in higher gears. Is this normal?

It wont damage it but any new car you want to break in and that generally means taking it easy on the car all together at first. No, the car can go to redline but I wouldnt take it to redline every second. And I dont know the powerband specs on your engine but it probably isnt abnormal. And if this was posted in the Sentra section under the QG18 engine section it would get more hits . No worries, a moderator will move it for you. And welcome to Nissan Forums

your redline is there to show you what RPM's start to hurt your engine, stay below that(even if it is just a little) and you will be OK

Well I imagine if its stick it has a rev limiter and if it's auto, the car knows when to shift
