turbo qg - help

ok fellers i have a nissan n16 almera and it has the QG16de engine i think its rated 105hp .......
i was thinking about turbo charging but i have heard the compression is quite high and there is no distributer so its almost impossiable to turbo charge ..

i am accustomed with a turbo vehicle and i need to feel boost .
what you all suggest ?

That's for the qg18de, not sure how much different it would be.

it's not impossible, compression is most likely around 9.5:1.

you have to be smart about it...you can't just slap the turbo on there.

obviously you don't know what you're doing....so I'll start here:

10psi on what turbo? 10psi on a t3/t4 will blow a QG16DE.
10psi on a T28 should not, ASSUMING you have proper fuel management.

So, with that in mind, I'd like to know how much you know:
What fuel management are you planning to use? What turbo? What manifold? Intercooler? etc.

you can't just throw a turbo on a car...........it is a VERY precise process.......and it does not sound like you have a clue at this point. You've got a lot to learn, so don't spend any money yet...because once you start...you'll realize how expensive it really is.

ok i was planning on using the T25 turbo with a stock silvia/supra intercooler ...going to make a manifold and no idea on the fuel management .....
what you all think ?
how much boost should i run ?
remember i am leaving the car automatic so you all think the tranny would handle the stress of boost ?
am i missing anything ?

don't make the manifold yourself....you have no idea what you are doing.

www.protech-fabrication.com sells a qg18de manifold, and you'd be dumb not to purchase it.

you still need to worry about recirculating the bov, fuel management, oil and water lines, and downpipe fabrication, along with intercooler piping, etc.....................there's a whole lot more to it than you thing, but I'm not going to walk you through this, and neither is anyone else here, because if you don't know what you're doing....you shouldn't be attempting to piece together a kit yourself in the first place.

with a proper setup, you could run 10-12psi probably.

well today i thought was the day i would have had a turbo car again but it seems not .

i gathered all the parts that i need to turbo my nissan n16 QG16de and went to the best turbo expert in trinidad and guess what ............he told me that he is not even going to try to turbo that because if he makes a mistake my engine would go boom !
he said its not worth the risk and i should just swap a sr20det instead . i was quite confused but then again i said to myself that he is the best man in trinidad so he probably knows what he is saying . he say the timing and stuff would be a problem since the ecu controlls everything .

life sucks !!!!!!!!!!

timing is not your biggest problem, fuel management is... post what parts you've got and maybe chimmike can help you decide what else to get if you still want to go through with this.

this is why I never tell any newbie to gather the parts themselves.

also, he may be the "turbo expert" but if he has no experience with the QG, he's not an expert. He says swap to the SR20DET because he'll make more money off you that way.
