you can lose nothing by removing the old muffler...only good things can come of that

you should be fine, there won't be any problems. it might get a little louder, but not much....probably has a decent tone now actually.

yea the reason i got the new muffler was becuase of the deep racing sound it gave it, but i wanted to know if that would cause stress on the engine with the 10 HP gain and other shit like that, i know that with pros there have to be cons.....

ha. i doubt you got 10hp from just a muffler. if you got a header and a GOOD exhaust (prob 2.25-2.5in) and a matching muffler, you might see 10-12 hp. just the muffler? maybe you gained 1-2whp, and a throatier (is that a word?) sound. but think about the fact that you still have the stock 1.75in (i think) piping running back

besides, extra hp doesnt add more stress to the engine, you get more hp because the engine is working more efficiently most of the time. the only con i can think of is people calling you a ricer because you have a fartcan (im assuming its a fartcan because of how you described it) with no other exhaust/engine mods

2.5" exhaust is too big for the n/a QG with a HS header. far too big.

haha 10hp from a muffler.

03sentraXE, you can't put that stuff in your sig till you have it bro.......copycat.

besides the fact that AEM doesn't make a fuel rail for us.

just figured I'd post this question in this thread as well.

Well, I've decided I wanted to get a Magnaflow muffler and was thinking about possibly getting a muffler shop to make the cat back pipe 2.25/2.5. Is it worth it at all to bother doing it. i was told it would cost around 100$ to make and install(not sure on price) + the price of the muffler and tip. Is the money worth it or should I just leave the pipe and get them to put the muffler/tip on without increasing the size of it? I plan on buying HS headers but even still will the pipe size increase actually cause a decent performence increase? Thanks

Edit: the reason I'm asking this is I'm not sure of the stock pipe size on the XE as well as not knowing how much of a difference it will or will not make =)

yea, 2.5 is prob too big. going n/a. get 2-2.25in (preference, i dont think either one of them is too big) mandrel bent pipe (preferably stainless) (NOT CRUSH BENT...cannot stress that enough), a good hiflow cat, and a nice muffler/resonator. with the header, you oughta see some decent gains. and btw, throw that $100 out the window. just the stainless piping with the bends will cost more then $100. yes you will notice an increase (especially when coupled with an nice CAI and header) plan on spending ~ $200 for CAI. $400 (or so) for header ...and about $250-$400 for exhaust setup *depending on what you go with*

btw, you have an inline 4cyl engine, you dont need "headers". 1 is sufficient lol

2.5" is DEFINITELY too big. Trust me, I'm running it.

Unless you're going to use nitrous, get 2".........like my tuning guide says.
