Hello!
I'm new to this forum that I found while surfing late one night. I've got a 1990 Nissan Sunny N13 with a GA16i engine. My problem is that sometimes when I drive the engine stalls, generally at low rpm's, say between idle and 1600 rpm. Usually, if I "spot" the problem early, revving it up to around 6000 will correct the problem and I can just drive on. This happens mostly when the engine is cold or semi-cold. Today, however, I had the stereo on loud and I certainly felt that it got very hard to steer, and I discovered that the engine had stalled again, causing the powersteering hydralics to loose pressure. I stopped (in an intersection with a Volvo behind.. ofcourse

) and I had to run the starter for about 15 secs before it would turn over on itself and start running again. What must've been the looks of a madman that watched "The Fast and The Furious" too many times, I made away at around 6000 rpms, to avoid another stall. After this there's no problem at all again, however, it might show itself some time soon or it might actually take months.
Anyone got any ideas what's causing this? Also, if one would change the engine on the N13 1990 Sunny, what engines besides GA16i would fit in the same bearings?
Ooops, I clicked on the wrong forum, could some admin move it to the GA16 thread?
Regards,
Patrik
