Honda D17A1 engine

Does this honda D17A1 engine any better than our QG18DE or GA16DE?... in terms of maintenance cost, reliability and performance.

All I know that this engine is a NON- VTEC, Timing belt driven, distributorless ignition and by the way the oil requirement is 5W-20. The higher end civic EX has the same engine with Vtec.

any comments?

non-vtec=slow. Even the EXs are no match to our QG....in proper stock 5 speed form. I'd beaten many when I was stock......now that I'm turbo they don't even look at me, hahhahaha

only maintenance I've had to do is oil changes. 28k on the clock and still tickin strong.

My QG is coming up on 36k with nothing but oil changes.

My QG has 67K and I've never had any maintenence besides oil change.
