2002 1.8L lower manifold burned thru
2002 Sentra GXE auto 1.8L, driving home from work and car looses power.
#2 and #3 coil pack burned up, causing unburnt fuel to burn in exhaust burning thru lower cast exhaust manifold(all 02)sensors mount here. Has cast upper manifold and cast lower. Dealer tried to show me a metal frankenstein looking unit for that model.
Car built June 2002. Anyone know of issues of 2 coil packs burning out and almost burning up engine with 120000 miles. Dealer said get new coil packs. A firey car would make a good lawsuit. The big hole looks like someone used a cutting torch because you see melted beads of cast metal where it ran down manifold. So it got really HOT to melt the manifold. Car will start and run rough obviously.. Pulled codes and it showed the misfire and H20S error. The car is fixable, but is there a coil pack issue, Dealer says their isn't. I think a flaming car is!
