Question sentra spark plug gap

I changed the plugs in my wife's sentra(they had about 40,000 on them).About a month or so after that it started missing when you first start it with the engine cooled down;really bad first thing of a morning.I took it and had the codes checked and they told me it was a misfire on the #2 cylinder. So I took that plug out and checked the gap and it had went from .44 to .40.There is no sign of the plug making contact with anything. If anyone can help I sure would appreciate it.Thanks

Is your wire firing to the cylinder? Might want to check that out.

the gap would not cause a misfire. the plug wire was probably damaged when it was removed. replace the set and you should be fine.
