still slow?

i know the sentra GXE 1.8 is hands down slow, but i went a head and did 2-1/2'' cat-back no header, and a short ram C.I.A. the car is still slow as balls? whats up with that any ideas? the car gets worse mpg it went from about 300 in the city and 320+ hwy then dropped to 260-270 city and 260-285 hwy?????? i was told the ecm might be bad (over 80,000miles no warr or recalls on mine) so i was thinking of sending to jet-chip to get a perf. flash will that fix it??? the mileage started out ok at first but then went down hill. i dont hot rod my car just want that extra punch when i feel the need to go W.O.T.

thanks y'all

what do you expect from a car with less than 100 hp in the first place? lol. it's going to be slow, even if you turbo it, it will be slow. no, don't get a reflash either, lol.

are you throwing any codes at all? if so, check them. maybe look into replacing your o2 sensors as they can cause bad gas mileage. otherwise, stop driving like a bat out of hell and i'm pretty sure the miles per tank will go up

yea, i know it is sssuuupppeeerrr slow lol, no codes, thought of changing the o2's for the hell of it. the miles per tank dont go up if i drive it good, i do most of the time. it stays at in that range no matter what on the freeway or in the city. its strange?

i took it in a road trip to colorado and once i hit the mountains hybrides started to pass me!!!!!! really i cant wait to get a real car

thanks for the input, just thought id ask

might want to throw it up on a dyno then, see how your a/f ratios are. you might have a bad sensor or something and for some reason the light didn't kick on

Gas mileage dropped, probably cause you're harder on the pedal. Might wanna back off of it a bit... . I had put in an intake and exhaust, and my mileage went up, a bit.

On a serious note, if it's THAT big of a difference, I'd get it checked out. That doesn't sound right to me.

i dont drive my car too hard like i said it started out ok but then just dropped. i need her to be reliable and not beak down because i drive her too hard!!! i ended the whole drive it like i stole it after i realized how slow the car is. but i do hit the gas every now and then but the mileage NEVER GETS BETER THAN THE 270 ON A TANK in the city or on the freeway where it should AT LEAST hit 300 if i drive it hard, but on a road trip i cruz at 65-75 and as soon as 270 rolls around the fuel is below 3/4.where when i use to take the same trip 270 was just under 1/2 a tank i reset the trip odd. every tank of gas so when this started to happen it threw a red flag. i watched how i drove the car but no matter hhow good i drove it the tank avarage stayed the same. by my math saying the tank is 11 gall i still avrage 22mpg. which isnt bad but it use to a lot better

thanks for the input y'all

Check out your MAF. They go bad on the 1.8's alot from what my local dealer told me. I recently had the same problem with my 2.0. Turned out the MAF was dirty. It's possible your newly oiled filter contaminated your MAF. Get some MAF cleaner and try that before just replacing it.

lol, i'm not talking down on anyone, i love b15's (i have one). i'm just asking what they expect? if someone wanted a fast car, that was the wrong one to buy as far as performance goes. that's all i wouldn't want someone to waste their money on things like that only to be disapointed

should have gotten an SE with the sr20 but yeah, lots of times it works out like that, where you get the car for cheap or it was handed down or something. i'd take it too
