squeaking problem/ bad service

So, the other week, I went to the Nissan Dealership to get my alternator belt replaced, for the second time in four months. Later, I come to find out that instead of a replacement they decided to 'fix' or tighten the belt, which cost me $37. It seemed as though the problem had been solved, but two mornings later, to my dismay, I heard the squeaking again!!! So I went back to Nissan to get it fixed.. yet again. And I thought that it wouldn't cost me a thing being that they didn't solve the problem the first or the second time they did it. Come to find out, they wanted to charge me $160!!! For the same F*cking problem that they failed to fix. Nissan service is SHIT. They told me that it was a 'wear-and-tear' thing with my belt and didn't want to replace it, which doesnt make sense because when i brought it in four months ago, for the first time, same problem, they replaced it for me. FOR FREE. anyone smell BULLSHIT???!

Ours was doing the same thing and they didn't want to fix it, they gave me a "could not duplicate symptom" when it was painfully obvious. I refused to take the car and after a lot of arguing, I got them pull it in the service bay. Luckily, the belt was squeaking away and they had no choice but to fix it. The tech said there was a TSB about the belts glazing and they replaced two belts on it. Luckily, ours only has 7K miles on it so it was replaced for free.

I agree about Nissan's service being shit. I like their cars, but on every one I've had they didn't want to fix things under warranty. I had two Frontiers before this one. I have found that some dealerships are a lot better than others. If you find a good dealership, stick with them. They're hard to come by.
